About We Animals:
We advocate for animals through photojournalism. Our global investigations and stories expose our complex relationships with animals. We work with NGOs, media and advocates to initiate ethical and cultural shifts in society, and empower human capacity for compassion and change.

How Jo-Anne’s vegan journey began:
I stopped eating animals when two things happened. First, I got to know some chickens. I saw that they were as complex and interesting as the dogs and cats in my life, and I knew I could not have them on my plate anymore. The second thing was learning about how we raise the animals we eat in factory farms. It's appalling and would be against anyone's personal morality if they saw it.
